About the Just 'B' Support Service

Text

The nature of working at a hospice means clinical professionals are regularly exposed to death and dying. This is often also paired with a large workload, irregular hours, and high stress levels.

We know that all of this in combination can take a toll on emotional wellbeing. That's why we've partnered with Just 'B' - a specialist bereavement support and emotional wellbeing service, which is part of a family of services and registered charity with Herriot Hospice Homecare and Saint Michael’s Hospice

Together, we're piloting a telephone support service for clinical staff working in hospices. The goal is to provide bereavement, resilience and emotional wellbeing support in a timely manner to those who need it.

How does it work?

We have set up a dedicated email address for the support service: wellbeing@justb.org.uk.

If you'd like to talk to someone about your wellbeing, all you have to do is send a quick email. You'll then receive a support call from Just 'B' within one working day. Calls are always made between 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

During your call you'll be provided with 1-1 emotional wellbeing and bereavement support. Just 'B' can also signpost you to relevant services, as well as offer information and advice.

Counselling referrals

Following your initial support call, you also have the option to be referred into Just 'B's counselling service.  This service provides you with wellbeing and resilience support for up to six sessions, all of which are carried out via telephone.
