About this publication

Text

Undertaken between July 2015 and February 2016, this is the first baseline survey of work experience in hospices. It offers a much fuller picture than previous largely anecdotal information on the extent and nature of work experience activities in hospices in England.

The survey results provide an objective basis on which to assess the contribution of hospices to work experience and the benefits of work experience placements to hospices.

The report includes a set of recommendations and next steps, the results of a survey of adult and children’s hospices in England, and case studies of good practice. It aims to assist hospices in considering how best they can support work experience activities, based on ‘what works’.
