The authors of this paper explain how hospices need to engage actively with those caring for people with dementia (their families and their professional carers) as part of the work they do, and to equip themselves for this work by adapting skills and expertise, and gaining knowledge about dementia.
This paper is part of a series of contributions to the Commission into the Future of Hospice Care. The aim of the Commission into the Future of Hospice Care is to help hospices look ahead so they can anticipate and meet the changing and growing needs of the communities they serve.
