Compassionate Employers Workplace Support

Compassionate Employers
The Compassionate Employers Programme gives organisations the skills, knowledge, and resources that they need to effectively support their employees through terminal illness, caring responsibilities, and bereavement at work.
Since our inception in 2019, we have built a membership that supports over 165,000 employees across the UK.

The business case for employers
- Only one in five managers’ report feeling confident supporting an employee following the death of a loved one.
- 77% of 18- to 34-year-olds would consider leaving their job if their employer did not provide proper support if someone close to them died.
- Every day, over 600 employees quit work to look after older and disabled relatives in the UK.
64% of employers offer no guidance for line managers on how to support staff who are diagnosed with a terminal illness.
Three pillars of Compassionate Employers Programme
-
Supports greater visibility and awareness around key topics around grief and bereavement which impact the workforce. Highlights ways to support employees facing terminal illness, caring responsibilities and bereavement.
-
