About the role
Do you have experience working with adults facing life-limiting illnesses, in the hospice environment or within other specialties? Are you able to deliver high-quality patient care, alongside an experienced multi-disciplinary team, on a flexible basis?

For adults, we offer a range of essential services including an Inpatient Ward, Hospice Care @ Home, Care Home Support Team and our Wellbeing Services. The Flexibank doctor role will be based on the inpatient ward and includes medical support to the other adult services when needed.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:
• Daily medical management of patients on the inpatient ward including clerking patients on admission, carrying out daily assessments, plan and implement specialist palliative care including safe discharge with good communication with families and carers.
• To work alongside substantive members of the medical team on the majority of occasions. Should no other members of the medical team be available, you will have access to consultant-level remote advice via Supportive Care UK.
• To work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide continuity of medical care to the adult patients which fully meets their needs and those of their families.
• To advise internal staff, GP’s and external Health and Social Care Professionals when requested to do so on clinical matters.
• Document clearly within the electronic patient record (EMIS) plans of care, significant conversations etc. to ensure high-quality patient care and contemporaneous records.
Essential requirements of the role include:
• Full and current GMC registration.
• Qualified Medical Practitioner- MBBS or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years full-time equivalent post-qualification experience with at least 2 years in a relevant specialty, including general practice
• Evidence of commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Eligible to work in the UK
