Job description

About the role
This is an exciting time to join our team whilst we are undergoing expansion, service transformation and development. We’re investing in a range of roles within the team to support our work with children, young people and families.

We are looking for a Family Counsellor to join the Child and Family Team. You will provide specialist emotional support and counselling/psychotherapy to families (children, young people and adults) who are under the care of Chestnut Tree House. You will also facilitate training and support for staff, and group activities for families and children/young people as required.

Due to the remote location and lack of public transport, access to your own transport is essential.

About us
St Barnabas House provides specialist palliative care to adults in the Worthing, Adur, Arun and Henfield areas through a range of services, including in-patient care and community living well services. Our sister hospice, Chestnut Tree House, is the children’s hospice for East and West Sussex and South East Hampshire, providing specialist palliative care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. Martlets Hospice in Hove provides specialist in-patient and community palliative care to adults in the East Sussex area. St Barnabas Hospices and Martlets Hospice have now merged becoming the Southern Hospice Group. Bringing our teams and resources together, as one organisation means we can focus on new and exciting visions and plans for our people and patients and provide even greater opportunities for our workforce.

We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community – a place where we can all be ourselves and succeed on merit. We offer various family-friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, staff engagement forums, facilities and services to support staff from different backgrounds.

Benefits
- Company pension scheme or NHS pension scheme for eligible employees
- Up to 35 days’ annual leave inclusive of bank holidays
- On-site education support and study leave opportunities
- Option to access Health Shield and cover your everyday cost of healthcare for less
- Corporate rate gym membership, discounts with local complementary therapies and Blue Light Card
