Job description

Exciting Opportunity Alert! Join a Team that makes a real difference!

About Hospice in The Weald
At Hospice in The Weald, we empower our staff to provide outstanding care. This means treating each child and young person as the unique individuals they are, fostering their independence and always keeping them and their families at the centre of everything we do. Helping children to play, learn and grow, as well as supporting siblings and the rest of the family.

Join the Children's Service, and you'll be a vital part of a team that ensures outstanding care is delivered precisely when it's needed, making a lasting positive mark on our local community.

About the Role
You will care for children aged 0-18 with life-limiting conditions, including a variety of complex health needs, offering sessions of respite care both in the home and eventually in our new children’s centre for day care sessions, as we grow the service to be able to provide support 7 days a week. We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible team players with a passion for providing high quality holistic care to children and their families, with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

You will be an integral part of the team and assist in its development, working alongside children’s registered nurses and volunteers to help us care for our first caseload of children. You will support and enable children, young people and their families to have access to experiences they may not otherwise be able to have. You will communicate effectively and respectfully, sometimes in difficult circumstances, while maintaining accurate records of care on the electronic care record system.

And the perks? We've got you covered!

Enjoy free parking, a generous holiday allowance (with options to buy and sell), and the ability to carry over your NHS pension. You can view more information about our range of benefits here.

For more information, please contact Tors Barwick Children's Clinical Nurse Specialist: tors.barwick@hospiceintheweald.org.uk or Fiona Ashmore, Lead Children's Nurse: fiona.ashmore@hospiceintheweald.org.uk

We can't wait to welcome you aboard! 🌈
