Job description
We have a rare and exciting vacancy for a committed and passionate Nurse Consultant to join us at our hospice, rated outstanding by the CQC, as we continue to shape, develop and deliver quality specialist palliative and end of life care in Lincolnshire. We have a consultant led eleven bedded inpatient unit in Lincoln caring for around 250-300 patients a year, and four multidisciplinary community teams delivering care across the county to around 3000 patients.
The postholder will:
- Lead the provision and development of expert innovative and evidence-based nursing and clinical care within the Hospice, at both an organisational and strategic level, working closely with all senior clinicians.
- Act as an expert and collaborative advanced practitioner who can provide advice, education and support for patients, families, and members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Work autonomously as part of the specialist Multidisciplinary team; their practice will be framed within the four pillars of advanced clinical practice: clinical practice, leadership and management, education and research. They will manage and support the specialist nurse team including advanced clinical practitioners.
- Be required to build close, effective and sustainable working relationships with a range of professionals involved in providing and commissioning specialist palliative and end of life care within Lincolnshire.
- Liaise and network with national nurse consultant and palliative care peers and colleagues for organisational, professional and personal development.
Qualifications and Experience:
Applications are welcome from candidates with up-to-date credible experience in palliative and end of life care with a Master’s degree in specialist or advanced clinical practice, and who are Non-Medical Prescribers.
We live and work by our values at the Hospice: aiming high, being courageous, working better together, having heart and doing it right; these are crucial for our next Nurse Consultant to be able to demonstrate, along with commitment, visibility and a ‘can do’ approach.
For the right candidate, a development role into this post can be considered.
Salary: £60,000
