Day 1: Tuesday 26th November
Hospice UK National Conference
A summary of sessions taking place on the first day of our National Conference in Glasgow on 26th - 28th November 2024.
Sessions with a 'š½ļø' symbol next to them will be available for digital ticket holders to watch via a live stream.
10:30 - 11:30am, Special Session: Assisted Dying for Terminally Ill Adults (Scotland) Bill š½ļø
Speaker: Liam McArthur MSP
Chair: Pennie Taylor, freelance journalist and broadcaster
This will be the first of a number of sessions on assisted dying at this year's conference. We hope this reflects the importance of the topic and the speed with which the hospice sector needs to be able to consider, feed into and prepare for any potential change in the law. Hospice UK neither supports or opposes such a change.
At this session, delegates will be able to hear from Liam directly about his proposed Assisted Dying for Terminally Ill Adults (Scotland) and the practical implications for a change in law. There will be an opportunity for our highly informed community of hospice professionals to raise issues and pose questions.
