Why is Philanthropy so important for our work?

Hospice UK’s philanthropists are like-minded people who believe in outstanding hospice care for all, for now, and forever. 

Hospice UK provides around £1.5 million directly to our 200+ hospice members in improvement & project grants - and trains 2,000 nurses, health professionals and hospice leaders each year.  

We support people who need hospice care at every age – from young people with life-limiting conditions to those who are frail and elderly. 

UK hospices need to raise £3.5 million every single day to deliver free, outstanding end of life care. The vast majority of this - over two thirds - is funded by donations from the public. Hospice UK are campaigning for a Fairer Funding Deal from the government to ensure regional hospices thrive long into the future. 
 
Our philanthropists support us through regular monthly or annual donations via the Hospice UK Ambassadors programme. And they support our projects and programmes through individual restricted gifts and via their family foundations. 

We make sure to keep you informed on the work you’re funding and the impact it’s making to transform hospice care for everyone who needs it with regular reports and briefing events.
