We’re saddened to share with you that we’ve decided to cancel this year’s event, which was due to take place on the evening of Wednesday 15 December.
Cancellation of the Hospice UK carol service
Text
At Hospice UK, our annual carol service at St Luke’s Church in Chelsea is one of the highlights of the year – a chance for us to come together at Christmas in support of the vital work of hospices across the UK. During the pandemic, that work has never been more important.
This has been a difficult decision, but with the spread of the Omicron variant and the pressure this will put on the health and social care service in the coming weeks and months, we hope our supporters, friends and partners will understand.
Merrill Powell, the London Fundraising Committee and our Development board are disappointed to have to cancel the service. They would like to warmly thank those who had bought tickets and those who were supporting the event, from our generous readers Dame Sian Phillips, Jon Sopel, Richenda Carey, Juliet Stevenson and Lord Michael Howard, to the Hospice UK and venue staff who had worked so hard to put such a fantastic evening together. We look forward to welcoming you to Hospice UK events in 2022.
Supporters who had bought a ticket have been contacted by email, and we will be happy to arrange a refund. Supporters may wish to treat their ticket as a donation to help us cover the costs of the event, for which we would be very grateful, but this is of course optional.
We’d like to take this opportunity to wish all of our friends and supporters well during the festive period, through what we know is likely to be a difficult time for many of us. We’d also like to thank hospice, health and social care staff for their continued dedication, compassion and hard work.
