Toby joined Hospice UK as its Chief Executive in September 2022.
Prior to his appointment, he led Acorns Children’s Hospice as Chief Executive from 2016, guiding the West Midlands-based charity and its children’s hospice care service through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID 19 pandemic.
Toby holds a wealth of senior leadership experience across a wide range of organisations in the charity sector.

Sarah joined Hospice UK in 2019 from Plan International UK, where she was Interim Director of Communications, Campaigns and UK Programmes.
Prior to this Sarah was Director of Communications at the World Cancer Research Fund, and has worked on campaigns for HIV/Aids awareness, disability, the environment, health, international development and peacebuilding.
Sarah can talk about all areas of Hospice UK’s work and campaigns, from the importance of quality end of life care for all, to our flagship Dying Matters campaign.

Charlie joined Hospice UK in 2020. He has around 15 years' experience working in charities, politics and the NHS.
He leads the campaigns and communications team, working with policy colleagues to make the case for hospice care across the UK.
Charlie's expertise also includes work to support public conversations about death, dying and grief.

Katie works across multiple policy areas and leads the organisation’s parliamentary engagement.
Katie’s areas of expertise are health policy, the impact of COVID-19 and the rise in deaths at home, end of life care in prisons, and our Dying Matters campaign.

Helen Malo joined Hospice UK in 2019 as Policy and Advocacy Manager for Scotland. Helen has worked in a variety of health policy roles for over 15 years in Scotland and across the UK. Prior to Hospice UK she worked in the Royal College of Nursing’s policy team in Scotland for six years.
Helen’s areas of expertise include the Scottish hospice sector and health care policy in Scotland.

Matthew joined Hospice UK in 2022 as Rheolwr Polisi ac Eiriolaeth | Policy and Advocacy Manager Wales. He has over 12 years’ experience working in policy, research and community development within the charity sector in England and Wales.
Matthew’s areas of expertise are research, Welsh hospice at home care and Welsh health policy.

Aileen Morton joined Hospice UK in 2022 as Senior Policy & Advocacy Officer for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Prior to joining the organisation, Aileen held a leadership position in local government in Scotland and worked across a range of policy areas.
Aileen’s areas of expertise include the Northern Irish hospice sector, and health care policy in Scotland.

Craig joined Hospice UK in 2009 as Director of Finance, and is Hospice UK's Chief Operating Officer.
He led on Hospice UK's work to introduce the VAT refund scheme for hospices in 2015, and more recently managed the £200 million emergency COVID-19 funding programme for hospices.
Craig was Hospice UK's Interim Chief Executive from December 2021 to September 2022.

Paul is Hospice UK's Deputy Director of Programmes; and has worked on employee engagement and CSR partnerships for 14 years, with a focus on improving health in the UK.
Paul leads on strategic development and recruitment for the Compassionate Employers programme, alongside working on environmental sustainability within the hospice sector.
Paul’s areas of expertise are better workplace support for employees, environmental sustainability within the hospice sector and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Melanie joined Hospice UK in 2001. Currently our Head of Information Support, Melanie is an experienced healthcare information professional, with a background predominantly in the field of public health, Melanie has more than 20 years’ experience in end of life care information support.
Melanie’s areas of expertise are information and support needs at the end of life; history and development of hospice care in the UK.
